ZHAO LIYING'S OFFICIAL FAN ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN PUNISHED FOR STARTING FIGHTS AGAINST WANG YIBO FANS

On the afternoon of August 23, many official or verified Weibo accounts of Zhao Liying’s fan groups were banned from posting on Weibo. This includes "Zhao Liying Global Fan Support Club" with 2.59 million fans, "Zhao Liying Weiba" with 2.34 million fans, "Zhao Liying Weiba Official Account" with 708,000 fans, and so on. This is also the first fan group that has been banned on a large scale due to "fandom fights" after the Central Cyberspace Administration decided to launch the campaign of "Cleaning up fandom circles" in June this year.

Why were Zhao Liying's fan groups banned? On the evening of August 22, some netizens posted on Douban and Weibo that Zhao Liying would be having a "second collab" in a new drama with Wang Yibo, which triggered a collective boycott by Zhao Liying fans. Zhao Liying's fans insulted the rumored director Fu Dongyu and the rumored partner Wang Yibo. Many Wang Yibo fans immediately verbalized against Zhao Liying's fans and attacked Zhao Liying herself.

On the evening of the 23rd, a Weibo announcement stated that a certain celebrity fan group has recently started fights on the Internet and promoted boycotts. They did not listen to the persuasion of celebrity management companies, and maliciously organized together to launch a siege and provocation. This type of behavior seriously violated the platform management regulations. The decided punishment is as follows: As of 20 o'clock on the 23rd, 3770 posts with violations were cleaned up, and 1830 involved accounts were banned from posting. Among them, 100 accounts were permanently banned from posting and 309 accounts were closed.
