I took a look at discussions of #Mulan# on Twitter, many people are asking why there was no Mushu and no singing.
However, there are also some people saying that making such an adaptation may be to be closer to reality and closer to history.

2. [+1662] So is it really not there? I still had a glimmer of hope... Maybe it is just Disney stirring up interest, (my fan filter is too strong)
3. [+1412] As a person who has never seen the Disney Mulan animation, it is fine to remove the dragon from the picture, otherwise it is really weird. Mulan is a serious historical story in many people's eyes, and not a fairytale. If there is a dragon, the desire of audiences to watch it is reduced by at least 30%.
[+1786] Reply: But Mulan is not a real part of history. It only exists in a poetry legend. Everyone likes the dragon because the dragon is very energetic. Aladdin did not have so many problems when it was adapted. Is there a problem?
[+1427] Reply: Then Aladdin should have also removed the monkey Abu
4. [+1493] Closer... closer to history? There is really a lot to complain about... The fact that Fa Mulan is Hujian is very hahaha. (T/N: Mulan's last name should be pronounced and spelled as "Hua". Chinese people from Fujian have a dialect and pronounce it as "Fa". Fujian people also sometimes pronounce Fujian as "Hujian")
(T/N: Comment complaining that the teaser has a lot of points that are lacking and that it is not culturally/historically accurate because the story, makeup, architecture and clothing are all from different dynasties.)
5. [+1154] The internet is discussing about Mushu, but the reaction is different from the one you moved to Weibo. They said that the live action version is not a copy of the animation, but it is very interesting even if there is no Mushu.
